Deficit of Russian regional budgets seen at 707 bln rbl in 2020

MOSCOW, Jan 20 (PRIME) – Budget deficits of Russian regions in 2020 is preliminarily estimated at 707 billion rubles, of which the regions rich with mineral resources, Moscow and St. Petersburg account for 570 billion rubles, the Finance Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

"According to the preliminary data of the Finance Ministry of Russia, the regional budgets were fulfilled with a deficit of 707 billion rubles in 2020, of which 17 mineral resource-rich regions, and Moscow and St. Petersburg account for 570 billion rubles," the statement read.

The decline of the tax and non-tax income of consolidated budgets started in April–June and reached 9%. The figures then started to improve and the decrease amounted to 2% at the end of the year. Positive dynamics of non-tax income was seen in 45 regions with the mineral resource-rich provinces seeing the biggest decline.
